FCS Track Competes in Penn Relays

   On Thursday, April 27th, Friends' Central girls' track was part of the Penn Relays and turned in two outstanding relay performances. The day started off with a stellar performance in the 4 x 800m. The time of 9:13.34 bettered the school record by over 6.5 seconds. FCS placed 14th overall which missed the Championship of America finals by .01 seconds.
The FCS time of 9:13.34 ranks 19th in the nation.

   In the second relay of the day, the 4 x 400m, the same runners ended on a winning note. The FCS girls set another school record in the Philadelphia Academic division of the 4 x 400m relay. The time of 3:59.6 was not only fast enough for a record, but fast enough for the school's first high school win at the relays. Both relays were run by: Emily Burd '17, Ava Forman '18, Gabby Wilkinson '18 and Izzy MacFarlane '20.
   Friends' Central boys' track competed in the Penn Relays on Friday and Saturday, April 28th and 29th. Asa Bell '17, Alex Veith '20, Anthony Cianfrani '20 and Cole Snyder '17 competed on Friday and ran :46.09 in the 4X100M Relay at Franklin Field.

   On Saturday, April 29th, Cole Snyder '17 (55.10), Samson Zaoutis '17 (54.15), Asa Bell '17 (52.42) and Michael Hogarty '17 (55.19) finished in 3:36.84 in the Prep School 4X400M Relay. Robby Saligman '17 represented Friends' Central in the pole vault and cleared 13' 5.25".
 
  Friends' Central's Middle School competed in the Penn Relays on Friday,April 28th in the 4x100m. The girls' team was made up of Jordyn Paszamant '22, Bailie Stovall '21, Morgan Cook-Sather '21 and Inara Shell '21. They finished 2nd in their race. FCS' boys' team finished seventh and featured Hugh Shields '22, Rhys Dillingham '22, Basim Horshaw '21 and TJ Lewis '21.
