Clare Luzuriaga
Nia Jordan'19 spent Memorial Day Weekend competing for a spot on the 16U USA National Basketball team in Colorado Springs, CO. Nia made it through the second round to the final 64 girls at the USA National Basketball team trials held May 25th - 29th. She is ranked as one of the top 33 sophomores in the country by the USA staff. Although Nia did not make the team, she had a great showing and represented Friends' Central well. She excelled in the classroom leadership training and on the basketball court. Congrats Nia!
As Nia's father Paul Jordan explained, "A big thank you goes out to the FCS basketball staff, Head Coach Phil Annas for his preparation, encouragement and patience and Assistant Coach Kwame Byrd for his enthusiasm and training. We also want to thank track coach Brandon Shell for preparing her for the altitude in Colorado Springs!"
